A Milwaukee, Wisconsin native, Jennifer developed a love and appreciation for music, specifically Hip-Hop and R&B, at a young age. Even in grade school, she was drawn to the grittiness presented by Hip-Hop. This interest got her in trouble at times - most memorably when she was disciplined at private school for having N.W.A. and Eazy-E tapes. She recalls, laughing, 'I knew my taste in music was much different than my classmates. While they were listening to the latest rock tracks, I was busy memorizing lyrics from Mary J, 2Pac, LL Cool J and Pharcyde.'
This love of music blossomed during college, where Jennifer realized she could be more than an appreciator of music, and began to actively develop and hone her singing skills. She joined up with the UWM Gospel Choir, where she was selected to sing several solos. During this time, she was also a backing vocalist for Kenneth Daniel. Jennifer has also been worship leader since 2002 at Everlasting Mercy Fellowship, a church known for their worship with a Hip-Hop and R&B flavor.
For Jennifer Torres, music is more than something to listen to. It's something that inspires and has the power to change your attitude immediately. She often has to restrain herself from just belting out a song on a bad day to make herself feel better.
Several tracks released by her fellow artists at 7th Platoon Entertainment have included her vocals, including 'When I Give My Love To You' by Dredknox featuring G. Womack, and 'Love The Way You Love Me' by Andy Vik. She is currently working on writing more songs, and plans to record her first solo song, 'Restore', shortly.
